Florence: A Few Photos

If you haven’t been to the Flickr photo album yet (or even if you have) here’s a visual feast (or at least I think so).

A panoramic view from the top of the Duomo, the heart of Florence.

The Duomo, seen from the faraway Piazzale Michelangelo

The front of the Duomo. It’s too big to fit in one picture, so this is the best I could do…

The river Arno, seen from across the river

David. The most fabulous nude male I have ever seen. (Ok, I haven’t seen that many…)

Fiesole, outside Florence. It’s a beautiful walk, I just wish it weren’t quite so long.

The Roman Theatre in Fiesole. This is why I study archaeology in my non-existent free time.

Arches, Fiesole. Aren’t they just lovely? I really like arches and columns.

Tomorrow… Hadrian’s Villa.

his right arm below wrist just looks like of chimp’s!..and the hair growth looks like a little umbrella..eeekk!!

and the Fiesole..the cream road..its a perfect tight curve to lean with high RPM!

and the Fonta di trevi in your previous post..i have seen this in a movie..with no people around..midnight dark & lights on..and a drizzle..this must be a place to gaze around for hours!

You seem to be in a diff world altogether! great trip it must be for you!

Love the pics Mika! My faves are of the Arno river, the panoramic view from the Duomo, the Fiesole and that walk looks so tempting. If only there were walks like that hereabouts I wouldn’t be so overweight πŸ˜‰

PS: Me there on Nov 12 for 3 long months πŸ˜€

    Arun: You’re just jealous, I bet! πŸ˜€
The Fontana di Trevi would be a wonderful place to hang around if it were a *lot* less crowded. Like this, it’s like being in a mela. I got out of there fast!

Sowmya: Yay! Three months!!! – Uhhh… why three long months???

Arun: Though I have met you only on the comments section of Anamika’s blog, I must register my extreme umbrage at your criticism of David. She’s right though – you must be jealous. πŸ™‚ He is quite perfect. There are no two ways about it.

  5. Arun says:

You are entitled to register any amount of extreme umbrage!..thats the good thing about being known only online! πŸ˜€ otoh, it made me to do a little back ground check on who is this David etc..and i realised that its Michelangelo’s ‘handy’ work that my criticism is up against! I think i should take a back seat here..after all its yet another ‘Italian make’ that i am always jealous of!
